Robert Evangelisti has over 35 years of U.S. and international industrial, consulting and academic experience in the fields of Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) management; auditing; compliance; permitting; project management; engineering; preparing and delivering training programs; preparing and/or revising policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures; developing, implementing and auditing contractor safety programs; planning, organizing and running workshops, seminars and conferences; wastewater treatment; waste management; waste minimization; providing support to factory planning, design, commissioning, operations, and/or de-commissioning; providing support for mergers, acquisitions and/or divestitures; and providing loss prevention/fire protection support.

Bob has experience in supporting the following industries: boat building, chemicals, dairy, engine manufacturing, fast moving consumer goods, food, machining, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, refining, transportation, warehousing, etc.

He is a Professional Engineer, Certified Environmental Auditor, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, and a Certified Safety Professional. He has presented over 35 papers at outside conferences and taught environmental courses at several colleges. He has traveled to and/or worked in over 20 states and 25 countries.

Professional Experience

a.i.1.a. Managed an Environmental, Safety and Health audit program: planned, conducted audits, followed up on action plans, tracked metrics, assessed program and site strengths, weaknesses, opportunities for improvement and threats.

a.i.1.b. Developed and implemented a comprehensive environmental audit program. Managed environmental audit program: planned audits, conducted audits, followed up on action plans, and analyzed trends.

a.i.1.c. Developed and implemented ESH-Quality Audit program, including procedure, checklist, training manual and video. Program used by Quality personnel auditing contract manufacturers and suppliers to include ESH provisions. Program pilot tested prior to implementation.

a.i.2.a. Managed environmental compliance for non-manufacturing facilities, R&D, managed the handling and disposal of R&D wastes, provided environmental support to site, conducted training, prepared procedures, etc.

a.i.7. Wastewater and Water Engineering



a.i.7.a. Project Manger for the planning, design and construction of sewage lift stations to protect buildings from flooding during storms. Oversaw all facets of the project, including management of budget, schedule, engineer, and contractors; interface with building occupants, obtained funding.

a.i.7.b. Project Engineer on water reuse study for the following industries: paper and pulp mill, meat packing plant, organic chemical plant, and iron and steel mill. The work included design, construction, operation and maintenance of pilot scale trailer mounted wastewater treatment units, data analysis and report preparation.

a.i.7.c. Conducted wastewater sampling and data analysis to characterize wastewater stream flows and loads for various industries.

a.i.7.d. Conducted wastewater treatability studies for various industries and prepared reports as a first step to characterize wastewater to determine if treatment would be cost-effective.

a.i.7.e. Conducted industrial wastewater pre-treatment studies and prepared engineering reports.

a.i.7.f. Supervised the planning, design, and construction of engine testing wastewater pretreatment system including unit process selection and design, control and instrumentation, and system start-up.

a.i.7.g. Conducted water balance evaluation for headquarters campus in order to understand water consumption and take steps to minimize usage and losses. Provided engineering planning and design for industrial wastewater treatment for a food processing facility.

a.i.7.h. Project Engineer on Environmental Impact Statement on municipal water pollution abatement program to update two major sewage treatment plants, build additional interceptor sewers, and develop treatment plant solid handling and disposal options. Role included analysis of treatment facilities, cost analyses, and development of the engineering feasibility for various sludge disposal options. Served as a representative on a public citizen committee and provided expert testimony at public hearing.



a.i.8. Waste Management



a.i.8.a. Managed the disposal of hazardous wastes including normal site operations and for site cleanups, including the characterization of unknown wastes.

a.i.8.b. Supervised the closing of oilfield waste pits by contractors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Evaluated methods for the disposal of oil and gas drilling and production wastes.

a.i.8.c. Project Manager for site evaluation for municipal sludge and solids disposal as part of an Environmental Impact Statement municipal water pollution abatement program.



a.i.9. Tank Management



a.i.9.a. Managed tanks, upgraded and/or replaced above and underground storage tanks. Installed spill warning sensors.

a.i.9.b. Supervised the removal of underground storage tanks by contractors. Supervised remedial activities.

a.i.9.c. Developed and implemented tank management program and procedures.

a.i.9.d. Conducted tank inspections and took corrective and preventive actions.
